Scrapbook Garden Design Kit - Dad

This is my 2nd layout for this months desgn kit
for the Scrapbook Garden using the

Beginning with some Bazzill cardstock in
Tawny light I punched some holes going in opposite
directions to each other and threaded them with
two different kinds of twine from the Vintage Finds Trim pack

Next using some Ribbon from the same
Vintage Finds Trims pack I inked it with some

Cutting two panels from Vintage Finds Flowers
and Bazzill Walnut Cream
punching a series of holes in both pieces on
the opposite sides to each other

and then lacing them together with the

I also cut two smaller pieces from the same card
and rounded all the corners to soften them

Once the two larger pieces were laced together
I added them to the 12 x 12 and fastened the smaller
pieces on either side , using the reverse of each pattern

I cut 5 tags , 3 large ones from the Walnut cream cardstock
which I stamped with the Rich Cocoa ink and
2 smaller ones cut from the Vintage finds Flowers paper
I inked all of the edges with the rich cocoa to age them

I threaded them all onto some of the twine
fastening them down to ensure they all stayed facing forward
and punched 2 holes in the bottom corners of the two
smaller pieces of card , passing the twin to the back of the page
and securing it in place.
I added the photo without further matting as it was an original
and I didnt want to alter it in anyway and the journaling
to the side of it.
Lastly attached my title which was actually the date
which had been stamped on the reverse of the photo
of my Dad wearing his demob coat.

Scrapbook Garden Design Kit - Its Spooky

This layout is from Octobers design kit for the
Scrapbook Garden using the Teresa Collins papers.

Beginning with the Vintage Clocks patterned paper
I marked off a set of holes over two opposite corners
one at the top and one at the bottom.

Next I punched out some holes

Then threaded some twine through the holes
from the Vintage Finds Trims pack

Choosing my photo which I mat on
Bazzill Cardstock in Coal , i tore away the
bottom edge to leave a raggy finish

I punched a series of holes beneath the photo
to thread through some of the same twine.

Using the Bazzill Coal Cardstock I cut out my title
and some lace edging

which I placed at the top and bottom within
the threaded twine corners

The image was then mat again onto some
I die cut some spiders and bats from the Coal
cardstock and cut a slither of card to act as though the
spider was hanging from the lace

added the bats to the Cheddar cardstock

And that was my layout finished.

Although the image is one from my vintage
family collection unfortunately we have no idea
which branch of the family they are from, or sadly what their
names are.
Whenever ive looked at this picture its always made me think of Vampires
Wonder if they were? Wonder if theres a Spooky side to my family?
Mind you first thing in the morning I look quite
deadly before the make up goes on.........

Maybe best to leave that there lol

Pop over to the Scrapbook Garden and check out all the fab offers in the shop
dont be missing out on all the bargains and the gorgeous papers etc
that Ann has in stock.

Thanks for stopping by my blog as always its much appreciated

Scrapbook Garden Design Kit - Flutter By Baby

This is my 2nd design for this months kit

I began by taking the border off the Graphic 45
Butterfly Specifies 12 x 12 paper.

Next I too one of the photos from my collection
of my Auntie Bessie and my cousin Jane Wilson

I trimmed the picture and sliced it into 3

I matted the picture on Bazzills Sugar Cream cardstock
and rounded the corners

Next I took another piece of Sugar Cream
and using some scrunched up Bubble wrap
and some distress inks i added some colour to the paper
to match the butterflies Id cut out of the
Butterfly Specifies

I kept adding colours until I was happy with the result.

I cut some corners from the border Id cut earlier
and added them to the 12 x 12

I then went on to add a Bazzill cardstock matt of Blue Lagoon
once again matching it to the butterfly colours.

Using a Tim Holtz Alteration die I cut out the birdcage
and cut away the centre bars of the cage.

I stuck down the butterflies inside the cage

After adding a couple trying to escape
I added a flurry of them soaring to the top corner of the page.
And my title cut from the Blue Lagoon

I like this photo on this layout I think they go together well

Thanks for stopping by its much appriciated

If you havent done so yet, pop along to the Scrapbook Garden blog

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

Scrapbook Garden Kit - Layout 1

This is the first layout for this months kit for
The picture is another from my Vintage collection
and its of my Mams cousin Peggy and her 2 friends .

Starting with some Bazzill cardstock in Blackbird
for the base i added a strip of Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe

Another square of the same paper but the reverse side
 matted on Bazzill Sugar Cream

Using a Tim Holtz / Ranger Distress Marker in Black Soot
I inked up a rubber stamp of a cornflower
I mist sprayed the stamped image with cold water
allowing the image to run slightly then dried it
with a heat tool leaving a smudged look

I used the same marker to ink up some butterfly rubber stamps
but this time left the sharp image
I cut out the cornflower and added it to the layout

I added my title Peggy and Pals which I cut
from the Market Place alphabet

And lastly added the butterflies
by gluing only down the body to allow the wings to stand
proud of the layout
