JFF - Distress Him

Sadly this is the final week of the challenges for Just For Fun
and this week its 'Distress Him'

Ive used an image of my Dad and his brother with a friend , it was taken just after the war.
My Mam tells me they had been out drinking, and everytime they went out drinking they ended
up in a studio getting a photo taken.
they must have needed dutch courage lol.

I chose the title 'Back in Time' which i felt suited it well.
I used my Tim Holtz mask and some fob watch rubber stamps and images

I used my distress ink to stamp this tag and fastened it
to the front of a tag holder

I used my Dads old typewriter to do the text and used my old paper
ditress ink to weather down the white paper.

I added some text with their names and again inked  the whiteness
of the paper down with old paper distress ink.

I love doing pages about my Dad , but am slowly running out of photos.
You think you have alot of some people until the sad time comes when you cant take any new ones, then you realise you will never have enough of them.

I will miss doing this challenge , as from April I am working alot more than I have been doing
but Im sure i will still see some of you around on other blogs.

Take care all of you , and be happy.
Thanks for being a visitor to my blog and for the comments you have left .

Pop back from time to time to say Hello.

Good Luck to all the ladies at Just For Fun in whatever they do , they will be missed im sure .

Have a nice weekend everyone

Full of Busy ........

Its been a strange start to the New Year , with being poorly , but ready or not it was my Daughters 18th Birthday this month.

As usual I made her card , and this year her icon Freddie Mercury helped with the theme.

I chose this image of a statue of Freddie which overlooks the sea as I thought the colours were fab.

On the inside a classic image of Freddie with his arm held high
which held 2 black ribbons pulling a silver 18 on the opposite page.
I used some of the new Tim Holtz tissue to line the page and give it the music feel.

In the very centre I stamped the gate and frence
the hearts and wings , and a quote .

Over the page a candlestick

I also made her a birthday cake, black.....but that suits her very well.

It was my intention to add a marzipan candlestick to the cake
but when it was finished I didnt like it so it didnt actually end up anywhere but the bin ....

Shes very grown up now, dont know where those last 18 years have gone

She had a lovely birthday although spent it quietly with her friends, shes not one for fuss.

And just thought id end this post with a picture of my little Granddaughter Edie , whose coming on a treat and is an absolute joy .

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, I have the morning off work today which is a change for me , but im back there this afternoon till 8pm.

Thanks for stopping by and for leaving any comments as always its much appriciated

JFF - Sporty Man

This is my entry for this weeks
Just For Fun which is Sporty Man.

I have chosen this photo from my vintage collection
which is believed is possibly my Grandfather James Wilson
when he was a young lad aprox 16 yrs of age.

The picture is one of a set that were found hidden away in
a family garage that once belonged to my Great Grandfather.

We found a box of glass slides ( glass negatives)
all of which were in perfect condition . I took them to a local
specialist who was able to develop them for me.

We do know that my Grandfather enjoyed a game of football
as a young lad , so im hoping this is him.
I added some rubber stamped footballs , and a footballer
and a quote to complete the layout.
I didnt add journaling as I cant be sure that it is in fact him,
but I have used a white gel pen to state that down the side of the layout.

Many thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment
its much appriciated .
Hope you all have a lovely weekend .
