Design kit - Fancy for 50

This is a card I made with this months design kit

I used the Glitz Designs - Pretty in Pink Toile
and cut it just less than the size of my card so that I could
matt it on the Bazzill Blackbird
Before fastening it to the black matt I tied around some
Bazzill tulle in Raven

Once I was happy with it i added the matt

Next I used some satin black ribbon from my stash
to add a black bow.
I cut some tags from the Bazzill French Vanilla

and embossed one with 'Happy Birthday'

I added a 50 from the My Minds Eye Lush Chipboard Stickers

and a couple of pink brads from my stash

A pink flower of my own also as it matched so well

And that was my card finished

The black and pink go together so well
they really compliment each other.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a lovely week
in this wonderful sunshine.

for the base.
It had a lovely soft feel to it and felt very 'girly'
perfect i thought for a page about myself and my Grandmother
Bella ( Isabella Lavery)

I cut out some pieces from the Toile, Polka, Edison
used some bazzill blackbird  and bazzill french vanilla for matting

decided on my design

added my journaling

added a rosette which i made from the Bazzill French Vanilla
and then i rubbed a pale pink ink pad over the top to
highlight the edges and give it a worn look.

I added a tag and used a bike rubber stamp from my kit
and some wording cut from the Edison paper

My photo

and lastly my title
which I used the My MInds Eye Lush Chipboard alphabet stickers in black

Design kit - Layout 3 - Uncle

This is layout 3 from this months design kit for

I loved the fact the the Prima Edison paper cut up into
so may pieces that could be used on layouts.
These ones that Ive chosen here were perfect to go with
these photos of my Dads Uncle Eddie ( my paternal Grandmothers
brother) as he is in his allotment with his birds.

I had this cute little chicken die which I thought would match in well.
I also cut parts of the chicken in the co ordinating colours to layer on top
of the original cut.

I chose the Bazzill 12 x 12 Kraft as I felt it gave it an earthy feel.

I cut some block pieces of Glitz designs Pretty in Pink Polka
and the tape measure strip from the bottom of the Edison paper

I used a couple of smaller pieces to go between the picture and the
polka pieces. I thought the measuring tape was quite apt
as many men made their own garden sheds etc in their
gardens and allotments as it was a money saving exercise and a way or recycling
old wooden doors and floor boards etc

I added the patterned discs to the layout

And also some flowers die cut from Bazzill Black
card alternating the sides of the card to give it the
look of different shades

Added the little chicken

And the title 'Uncle' made from the Lush Chipboard stickers in Black

And thats my layout finished .
Once again thanks for stopping by its much appriciated.

Design Kit - layout 2 'Day Trip'

This is my 2nd layout from this months design kit for

I decided to use this old photo from my collection
which I thought matched beautifully to these papers.

Its a photo of my Great Grandparents out on a day trip
unfortunately I dont have an idea where too , when or indeed who any of
the people are whom they are with.

I had to have a giggle to myself that although out for the day they dont
half look very miserable.
I wonder if any of these people have relatives in
Boldon nowadays ?
The fancy hats and long dress coats i thought went well
with the colours ive used in this layout.

I began with a 12 x 12 of Bazzill French Vanilla ....
my absolute favourite shade at the moment.

I cut some large daisys using Bazzill Blackbird

I used an ink pad to colour the french vanilla piecses
with pink ink.

I joined them together using the Delish Designs

I selected some pieces of card
Prima Almanac Edison and
backing them all with
Bazzill Blackbird I felt the black matting made the pretty
papers stand out alot and gave an air of grace as
everyone in the photo looks as thought they have on their Sunday Best.

I laid out the pieces on the French Vanilla

Added the flowers

Top and Bottom
The image

and journaling and the title for which I used the

And thats my layout.

Design Kit - Sisters

This is my first layout for this months design kit for

I could have squealed with delight when I saw these beautiful papers.
The colours are gorgeous and the camera isnt really doing them justice
im afraid. The quality is fab and they are a must for anyones stash.

The aim this kit is to make your own embellishments.
Bought ones although very lovely can work out a little expensive, so
this kit we are looking at some ways that you could make your own
and make layouts and cards etc a little more cost effective.

I started with this lovely one from Prima called 'Shaffer'
from the Almanack Collection.
Its double sided , and I always feel sorry for the side I dont use ,
but I decided on this one which was a beautiful shade of pink.

It has this fabulous print on it , all aged and worn looking.

I added a strip of 'Edison' this was a lovely paper
and on the opposite side there were lots of scope
to use bits as embellishments.

I had no trouble selecting a photo, and used one of my Dads
2 sisters Edna, and Jennie.
to matt the photo , a triple layer to make it stand out.

Next I took these fab little letters which were part of the Edison
sheet again and selected the ones to spell the girls names .

Using a square of Edison the (side used for the large strip )
I folded over the top edge , and glued inside a normal cocktail stick.

I added some Embroidery Cotton in a soft pink
to make a scroll

Next I added the girls names

Using a flower from my own stash (because it was the perfect colour)
I attached the scroll to the layout

Added another piece cut from the Edison paper
a clock which matched beautifully

And my title 'Sisters' which I used
from My Minds Eye.

I cut a flourish from the blackbird bazzill and added it to
the bottom corner to bring it altogether.

And thats my layout finished,
I hope you like it , Im really pleased with it.

If you visit please leave a comment
so that I know you have stopped by, thank you.
