Design Kit - Sisters

This is my first layout for this months design kit for

I could have squealed with delight when I saw these beautiful papers.
The colours are gorgeous and the camera isnt really doing them justice
im afraid. The quality is fab and they are a must for anyones stash.

The aim this kit is to make your own embellishments.
Bought ones although very lovely can work out a little expensive, so
this kit we are looking at some ways that you could make your own
and make layouts and cards etc a little more cost effective.

I started with this lovely one from Prima called 'Shaffer'
from the Almanack Collection.
Its double sided , and I always feel sorry for the side I dont use ,
but I decided on this one which was a beautiful shade of pink.

It has this fabulous print on it , all aged and worn looking.

I added a strip of 'Edison' this was a lovely paper
and on the opposite side there were lots of scope
to use bits as embellishments.

I had no trouble selecting a photo, and used one of my Dads
2 sisters Edna, and Jennie.
to matt the photo , a triple layer to make it stand out.

Next I took these fab little letters which were part of the Edison
sheet again and selected the ones to spell the girls names .

Using a square of Edison the (side used for the large strip )
I folded over the top edge , and glued inside a normal cocktail stick.

I added some Embroidery Cotton in a soft pink
to make a scroll

Next I added the girls names

Using a flower from my own stash (because it was the perfect colour)
I attached the scroll to the layout

Added another piece cut from the Edison paper
a clock which matched beautifully

And my title 'Sisters' which I used
from My Minds Eye.

I cut a flourish from the blackbird bazzill and added it to
the bottom corner to bring it altogether.

And thats my layout finished,
I hope you like it , Im really pleased with it.

Hi Jaqi - thank you for creating this lovely layout using one of your vintage family photographs. The scroll idea is great (may have to pinch that one!). Ann x
