Lots to Do- Alter it

This is my entry for this weeks challenge at Lots to Do which is 'Alter it'.

I first saw these Dominoe books over at Ink stains with Roni although the one Roni made was far superior to mine.

As many of you know, if you visit here regularly, I often make a scrapbook page to mark the anniversary of my Dads death, or his birthday, Fathers day, and Christmas etc.
Its my way of still giving him something for those occasions where I no longer can.

Well when I saw Roni's dominoe book it gave me an idea. If I made a dominoe book with things in it that reminded me of him , at least this size would be perfect to carry around in my handbag. As try as I might 12 x12 scrapbooks are not the easiest of items to just carry around for the sake of it.

Well I loved my little book so much and I thought it was about time to make one similar for my daughter Hannah to remember her Dad in the same way.

My cousin Tom came to the rescue and drilled in the holes , then i used alchol inks to colour down the dominoe.

I used tiny rubber stamps and litle bits and bobs to decorate the card inside , then threaded some twine through it and atached two metal charms on the end of the tine to stop it from slipping back through the holes.

So both myself and my daughter have one now, Ive added the photos of the two of them together. I must experiment more with alchol inks and dominoes as they go well together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog , hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Oh I have never seen little books made with dominoes. These are so lovely! And what a beautiful way to remember your Dad, Jaqi. I can see how handy these would be to carry around. They would be great as little brag books for a new Mum too, wouldn't they. I have a drill. I wonder if I can find me some dominoes? Hmmmm now I am thinking! Lol! XX

How funny you did a domino book - I have just been completing one for a swap I am in.
This is gorgeous - love the method for tying it up, but most of all the reason you have done it.
